About Centum Foundation – Corporates are giving back to the society through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Further, the investment potential under Corporate Social Responsibility in India is expanding with the revision in the Companies Act, 2013. Under social responsibility of business, a large number of corporates are focusing on employability based skilling initiatives.
Centum Foundation, the CSR arm of Centum Learning, is a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and holds an 80G and FCRA certificate. The society conducts programs impacting national issues in the field of skill development, women welfare and empowerment, vocational training and health awareness. The present governing body comprises of veterans from Education and Vocational training.
Centum’s belief in ‘smart partnering’ as one of the ways to create value for both businesses and society is reflected in its collaborations with corporate India. It has experience of implementing employability linked training in sectors like IT/ITeS, Telecom, Beauty & Wellness, Apparel, Construction, Retail, Hospitality, BFSI, and Healthcare among others.
Centum Foundation is working towards skilling and empowerment of PWDs in India. A number of initiatives have been implemented for Deaf, Orthopedic and Blind youth. It has launched a unique initiative, called Centum GRO to empower the Deaf in India and assist them to become employable in different domains.
The training model for PwDs has four components i.e. Educating, Preparing, Training, and Sustaining. The medium of training used is in alignment to the disability which helps in enhancing the learning capability of the participants. The benefits to the learners are:
