Anhoni (Hot Spring) Tamia
Located 13 km from Chhindwara district via the Zhirpa Chawalapani road and 18 km from Matkuli, Anhoni village is situated on the Chawalapani road. This religious site, located approximately five km inside the forest area from the main road, has been a center of faith for many years. In Anhoni village, naturally boiling hot water is found throughout the year. Locals attribute this to divine causes, while the scientific reason is stated to be the abundance of sulfur in the ground beneath the temple site, causing the water to boil. Villagers believe that bathing in this water cures skin diseases. To help people, villagers have established the Anhoni Mata and Hanuman Temple near the spring. The fame of this temple has spread far and wide. Every year on Makar Sankranti, January 14, a seven-day fair is organized here. A large number of people from Nagpur, Hoshangabad, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, and other regions come to participate in the fair. However, due to being in a forest reserve area, the Anhoni temple has not been able to develop much. Tourists going to Pachmarhi via Tamia definitely visit this place and are astonished to see this wonderful sight created by nature. Anhoni village can be reached by rail and road transport from Junnardeo, Parasia, and Chhindwara. It is located approximately 52 km from Tamia and 12 km from Zhirpa. Along with the sight of Anhoni hot spring, the areas of Patalkot, Chauragarh, Pachmarhi, etc., can also be enjoyed.
